李显龙刚刚发facebook,他在家翻箱倒柜又找到一件宝贝,是和那个劳力士手表有关。他准备送去国家博物馆,大家先睹为快 lol
“In 1952, my father represented the Postal and Telecommunications Uniformed Staff Union in its dispute with the colonial government. He was then working in Laycock and Ong as a junior lawyer.
The first document is a memo from the Director of Posts, telling the union that they had no objection to my father representing them at the negotiations.
The negotiations were unsuccessful, and the postmen went on strike. With my father’s advice (and help from S Rajaratnam, who was editing a newspaper) they won public sympathy, and secured higher wages and better terms and conditions.
This led to my father becoming legal advisor to many unions, and spending more time on union matters.
Will share these documents with the National Heritage Board for their exhibition at the The National Muesum of Singapore.”- 摘自李显龙facebook。
