Anggun 安谷 的父亲在印尼也是个有名的歌手，从小受其耳濡目染，Anggun在9岁时就推出了第一张儿童音乐专辑，12岁发行第二张畅销东亚的摇滚专辑《World of Mine》，十九岁甚至创立了自己的唱片公司发行印尼乐曲。小小年纪就完成那么多事，Anggun开始对人生感到彷徨，她想接受更大的挑战。
1995年，Anggun离开故乡前往巴黎，希望自己创作的音乐能被更多的人欣赏。很幸运，Anggun不久就遇见知名的制作人Erick Benzi。两人一拍即合，经过无数次创作沟通，同名专辑《Anggun》就这样诞生了，而主打歌曲《Snow on Sahara 雪降撒哈拉》更成为法国、比利时音乐排行榜上的常胜冠军。真正让她风行世界。如今，其已经成为法语歌坛不可忘记的名字。Anggun由摇滚歌手转变为R&B歌手，所以从其音乐元素以及演唱技巧来看，依然可以找到很多摇滚的影子。其另外也非常出色的作品还有《A Rose In The Wind》。
