石笋山，古沙场 (Pinnacles, the Ghost Mountain)（图）

三公子

这是史前的火山遗迹，发生在几百万年前的事了。那山爆发在地球板块的断层处，小部分地貌至今还在“原地”耕作（如果有原地的话，那就是Lancaster, California，往南有百多英里之遥）。大部分随大陆漂移蜗行至此。离这里最近的镇子叫Soledad，在Silinas/Monterey东南10多个英里处。美国政府将此处作为地质遗产保护起来了，官名叫作 The Pinnacles National Momument.

鬼魅般的地貌在潜移
从远古到久远不曾停止
一辆机动车奔驰而来奔驰而去
亦没有觉察一丁点儿有异
路边一群鹿儿却突然竖起耳朵
仿佛预感了惊天动地
有一巨大秃鹰平衡于空中
明显不愿意在此落地
只是有那么一天
那鹰会疲惫至极摔落于地

高智慧生物想在此留个印记
以后好来丈量移动的距离
只是有一点迷惑难解
始终无法确定以后的定义
将来有谁能重返此地
为宇宙的变迁大声叹息

the definition of later

ever so slowly does this ghostly landscape
inch forward from ancient time to the far future
an automobile rushes by
and doesn’t seem to detect any movement
but a horde of deer suddenly
perk up their ears
as if to detect something ghastly
a majestic vulture balances himself in the air
he obviously doesn’t want to land here
but he will fall down from exhaustion
someday

an intelligent being wishes to leave a mark here
so the movement of the land could be measured later
but this is totally puzzling
because nobody can figure out
when is later, and really
who will be here to experience
that incredible amazement?
