【顶顶原创】美加边境上的国际和平公园 ( The International Peace Garden )

位置: 加拿大马尼托巴省和美国北达科他州

致力于世界和平, 沿世界的最长的没设防的疆界, 占地2,339 英亩植物园

"Dedication of the International Peace Garden took place on July 14, I932, with some 50,000 persons present.
The simple boundary marker – a cairn built of stones gathered from both sides – bears a plaque, reading:

To God in His glory
we two nations dedicate this garden
and pledge ourselves that as long as man shall live we will not take up arms against one another."  source(1)

BELL TOWER
在1932, 作为一份对他们的母亲的纪念品, Arma Sifton夫人的4个儿子捐赠了这个编钟给在马尼托巴, Brandon 的教会. 1969年教会把编钟捐赠了对国际和平公园。每十五分钟美好的声音从编钟的14铃中发出.

花卉时钟 (FLORAL CLOCK)
1966年Bulova Watch 公司赠的. 是著名瑞士Bulova 花卉时钟的复制品. 2005又换新的了.

和平塔 (PEACE TOWER)
和平塔120 英尺由四个坚实混凝土桩构成. 象征人从世界的四个角落汇聚,建立了二个相似又各有特点的国家.

"The large clock received from the Bulova Watch Company in 1966 was a duplicate of the famous Bulova Floral Clock at Berne, Switzerland. It was replaced the summer of 2005 with a new clock out of  St. Louis, Missouri. The Floral Clock is a popular attraction at the International Peace Garden. It is 18 feet in diameter and displays a unique floral design each year. The number of plants on the clock can range from 2,000 to 5,000, depending on the type of plant and design on the face of the clock. Typically the first week in June, 150,000 flowers are planted at the Peace Garden, and best viewed in full bloom from mid-July through August. 指的是阿尔伯塔和美国边界的waterton international peace park，那个公园在落基山脉的南端，据说非常美。 这段时间看了一些落基山脉的书。落基山脉共有5个国家公园，jasper, banff, yoho, kootenay, waterton。今年我才跑了两个。 你跑那么远就为了看这个花园？估计得用两天时间从你那里到这里。只有一种可能，你以前住在花园附近。   --- 这个世界从不缺乏美， 缺乏的是发现美的眼睛！
