Edwards Gardens, a picturesque landscape in the Wilket Creek valley, is one of three formal gardens in Metro's regional park system. Alexander Milne, a Scottish weaver, and his family settled here after the War of 1812. He began a milling operation and eventually obtained a land title by 1827. Rupert E. Edwards purchased the original Milne lot in 1944 as the site for a country home. Sadly neglected during a series of ownership changes, the valley was little more than a wild tangle of weeds. In 1955, the property was sold to Metropolitan Toronto, who in turn leased it to North York Township for maintenance. Edwards Gardens officially opened in June 1956.

Telephoto zoom lens incorporates Sigma’s original OS (Optical Stabilizer) function
The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the new APO 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM.
This telephoto zoom lens incorporates Sigma’s original OS (Optical Stabilizer) function. It offers the use of shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower. Three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements provide excellent correction for chromatic aberration. This lens is equipped with the rear focus system that minimizes fluctuation of aberration caused by focusing. It provides optimum image quality throughout the entire zoom range. The super multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting. High image quality is assured throughout the entire zoom range. The minimum focusing distance of 150cm (59.1”) throughout the entire zoom range and has a maximum magnification of 1:4.2 make it useful for close-up photography. This lens incorporates HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), which ensures a quiet and high-speed AF as well as full-time manual focusing capability. The addition of the optical 1.4x EX DG APO or 2x EX DG APO Tele Converters produce a 168-560mm F6.3-8 MF ultra-telephoto zoom lens or a 240-800mm F9-11 MF ultra-telephoto zoom lens respectively.
From 300mm telephoto to 800mm ultra-telephoto this new lens provides a constant fast maximum aperture and is optimized for digital SLR cameras.
This lens covers the telephoto range from 300mm to the ultra-telephoto range up to 800mm. By continuously varying the angle of view from 8.2° to 3.1°, the lens takes a lot of the footwork out of picture composition.
New coating reduces Ghost and Flare
The new multi layer lens coating and lens design reduce flare and ghost, which is a common problem with digital cameras and also creates an optimum color balance.
It is equipped with ELD (Extra Low Dispersion) glass elements
Two ELD glass elements in the front lens elements reduce chromatic aberration to a minimum and also ensure sharp, quality images of high contrast.
HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor for Sigma, Canon and Nikon mount lenses)
The HSM models provide silent, high-speed and precise auto-focusing with full time manual focus override.
It also features a drop-in filter
It also features a drop-in 46mm filter holder in the rear part of the lens barrel, which can be rotated to facilitate the use of filters, including a polarizing filter.
Internal Focusing and Internal Zooming
Since focusing and zooming do not change its overall length, this lens is easy to hold and use. In addition, since the front of the lens does not rotate, a circular polarizing filter can be easily attached and use.
Accepts both 1.4X and 2X APO EX Tele-Converters
When this lens is used with the 1.4x EX or 2x EX Apo Tele Converters (optional), it becomes a 420-1120mmF8 MF lens or a 600-1600mm F11 MF lens respectively.
The ultra telephoto zoom lens that offers a fast aperture of F2.8 at the 500mm and F5.6 at the 1000mm focal length
The dedicated “Attachment” ensures autofocusing at the 1000mm focal length.
SLD and three ELD glass elements provide high image quality from the maximum large aperture
Supplied with φ72mm filter holder at the rear
An ultra telephoto zoom lens offering a fast aperture of F2.8 at the 500mm focal length and F5.6 at the 1000mm.
The Sigma Corporation is please to announce the new APO 200-500mm F2.8/400-1000mm F5.6 EX DG Lens.
This ultra telephoto zoom lens offers a fast aperture of F2.8 at the 500mm focal length and F5.6 at the 1000mm. It covers widely used focal lengths from 200mm to 500mm and has a large aperture of F2.8 throughout the entire zoom range. This lens can be used to create amazing image expression with various types of photography such as astrophotography, portraits, wildlife, sports. SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass and three ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass elements provide excellent correction for all type of aberrations. The super multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting and provides high image quality from the extremely large aperture. The lens hood, designed exclusively for this lens, blocks out extraneous light. A 72mm filter can be inserted at the rear of the lens, and a circular polarizing filter can be used in situ thanks to the ingenious internal rotation mechanism. The dedicated Li-ion battery BP-21 is used to power the zooming and AF operation. This battery is built in the lens barrel. For the convenience of the photographer, focusing distances and focal lengths can be viewed on the lens` built-in LCD panel.
