Before we went, we had been amply warned that the sky might turned rude and nasty in our face. So, we were extremely lucky as the sky only opened up for about 40 minutes. Some natives hadn't had that kind of luck in several trips.
But I'd have preferred camping, for the hotel we stayed in up there was a nightmare.
We also saw quite a few young people (college kids perhaps) slept in their sleeping bags in the open air. It was bone-chilling cold, I can tell you that.
